FAMILY FISHING CHARTERS & fishing ADVENTURES

We love taking kids out, and opening their eyes to the natural world, and where their food comes from, and our backyard of Tairua, Pauanui, Boat Harbour, Shoe & Slipper Island are the perfect location to do it from.

As you will see from the fishing adventures we post in our articles and social media channels with our own family, we’ve got a good feel for what kids like and can handle in an adventure. Some kids will last a whole day but more often than not, a half day is the perfect way to introduce kids to the ocean and make sure they head away with good memories and want to come back.

We can find good settled conditions most of the year on a half day trip, as we’ve got good sheltered options very close to Tairua. We do a special half day rate of $1200 for families for a half day on the coast. With more time and good conditions, we can venture further afield for a magical trip to the Aldermen Islands.

Provider is kitted out with life jackets to suit all sizes, including kids jackets. All fishing gear is provided but if you have a special rod they have got for their birthday or Christmas you are welcome to bring it along. On request and when the weather is good, we also have a few toys like biscuits we can throw on for a bit of fun. Along the way we’ll provide some fun facts to make the trip an interesting one for the kids. We can find some sea caves, and deserted beaches to roam on as well.

And…yes…the adults will get a turn on the rod as well!!
