Capt Rick Pollock - living at sea

Who better to talk to on my first podcast than legendary New Zealand skipper & one of the pioneers of the NZ charter industry Capt Rick Pollock. Rick made the fishery of White Island and Ranfurly Banks world famous, pioneering new techniques primarily chasing yellowtail kingfish through the 1970’s and 80’s on board his charter boats Pursuit. After a long consistent and successful career that spanned 40 odd years and put smiles on many faces, Rick retired last year. On this chat we reflect on what fishing means to us, the highs and lows of charter fishing, about family, food, our current lockdown and the state of our fishery. Its always a pleasure to chat to such an eloquent, professional and worldly fisherman. I hope you enjoy my chat with Rick. Drop me a comment with any thoughts and feedback. All the best, Carl.
