4 days on Retreat - What to expect on our Men's Health Retreat

They heard the calling & travelled from Nelson, Whangarei, Auckland & Whitianga, coming for their own personal reasons I cannot share, that is their own personal story.

Another group of good men arrived in Tairua this week for one of our Mens Health & Wellbeing Retreats. I also won't go in to detail as to what was discussed, and all of what we did. You need to come and experience one for yourself, when it is right for you. But with the guys permission, I can share a few photos, and a brief overview of what might happen, if you feel the need and come, day by day....

The first day of our 4 day Mens Retreat is all about connecting back to Earth. Eating and harvesting nutritious kai from the land, dialling back from modern distractions & stress, putting our roots into the land, hearing each others journey's as men, and connecting with the wairua of Tairua. We start the process of letting nature do the healing.

Day 2 of our Men’s Retreats is all about connecting with Tangaroa and collecting our kaimoana for the next few days of good healthy eating. Plus taking time to connect with ancient islands miles from modern day distractions. Water is a powerful way to release and let go.

Day 3 of our Men’s Retreat is about going deeper. We motor to one idyllic spot for the day, put the anchor down, explore ancient geology, caves & patterns in nature. We chill and korero deeper about our journey as men. Immersed in cleansing blue water, a few treats come our way. Our kaimoana that night is cooked over Fire, a journey as fulfilling as the destination itself. With the new moon near & under clear skies, we explore the cosmos and our connection to the stars.

Day 4 of our Men’s Retreat is about connecting with Air Elements. So often we go about our busy lives, without pausing to breathe deeply. After two more nutrient packed meals, and a morning of reflecting, talking, stretching, meditation and breath work we send our men back into their worlds, full of self-love, to create positive ripples.

Thank you to everyone, the previous retreat participants included, and many here reading this, who have helped me learn and grow on my journey, and share, and serve in this way. Nga mihi. Carl
