I have always been fascinated with how Māori place names capture the spirit of an area, or do such a good job at describing an area. While most of our NZ Pakeha names are ego based, named after people explorers were trying to impress, or lay claim to an area.

Language is such an important part of ancient wisdom, and while we are on this land - its important to connect with the language of this land - Te Reo Māori.
