a return to raising empowered young men
A camp for any Male - 14 years up.
Attend on your own - or with family and freinds.
This camp is all about showing the way for the next generation. A remembering of the craft of being a man.
For the Dad’s and son’s alike it is a unique chance to put the phones away, get off the screens, leave things like the beers, junk food and vapes behind, and strengthen the bond you have with your young man, in the company of other good men. Think about how many times these things creep into the school holidays, this is a chance to return to nature.
As a commmunity - it is about providing an empowering space for other young men who may not have Dad’s. For them to feel supported and seen.
Young men need adventure. They need challenge. They need to know the difference between wrong and right. They need to hear that there will be struggles in life, but that other men have got through these struggles. They need to see examples of what a good man looks like, and that it is OK to share and express their emotions.
We’ll be cooking over fire.
We’ll be sleeping in tents.
We’ll be gathering our kai.
We’ll be giving our young men a glimpse of what village life used to look like - and vision what it could look like again in the future.
We’ll be making new friends and strengthening community.
We’ll be learning tools to become more self sufficient.
This gathering is not just for fathers and sons - we are calling in elders who can show the way, we are calling Mum's of young men who don’t have Dad’s to send their young men along with an uncle or Grandad or family friend.
Bring the stories of your ancestors - this is a gathering of all cultures - the melting pot that makes up Aotearoa.
