Jan 2008 - Insane Kingi Sessions at Slipper Island
The offshore kingi fishing has slowed a touch with the arrival of marlin out around the pins, but inshore the kingi fishing has been superb. A good example of this is the other day when I cam across a huge ball of mackeral in 14m inside Slipper Island, the first cast with softbait and we played a 20kg kingi for over an hour on softbait gear, then it was over to the heavy gear and Matt smashed ten kingis in a row on livebaits (all released) before it was home time, not a bad few hours on the water!
