Kingfish and Hapuka - January 2013

First few weeks on the Senator Typhoon and it is going great guns!

January is a sweet time to be on the water, and we've got into some pretty mean puka fishing wide of the Mercs, with hapuka to 36kg, live baits have been the secret to hooking into these tasty bucket mouths of the deep.

I've been super happy with the new Furuno TZ Touch. Anytime you swap electronics you are always a little nervous, but I've found the TZ super easy to get to use, very intuitive, and being able to scroll back and mark fish and bait balls is a dream!

The pins have been their usual best with solid 20kg hard fighting pelagic fish you find there during January. Good times, now, time to find some marlin!
