10 tools to get through during a rough time
10 things to help you heal during rough times.
1. Talking. Is a powerful way of getting things out of your head. Choose a place where this can be done without judgement, with people who have lived experience, to listen and guide you through.
2. Acceptance. Of your current situation, and the past, and the lessons it has taught you, is a positive way to go forward. Acceptance is the pivot you must travel through in between a negative down cycle, and a positive upward cycle.
3. Remembering. All the wisdom passed down in your DNA from your ancestors. Their miracle journey that has brought you here. All the amazing things you have done in your life. It is good to reflect on & celebrate your past wins and strengths.
4. Rest. We all need rest. The right amount of uninterrupted sleep is critical to our wellbeing. We need downtime to recalibrate.
5. Kai. Food is medicine. Medicine is food. Eating as close to nature as possible, from a diversity of plants, combined with good fat and protein, is the key to health.
6. Being present. Technology empowers us, with access to knowledge. It also distracts us and scatters our attention. Take time to switch off for extended times.
7. Let Go Bro! We can’t experience new awesome things, if we hold on to everything. At some stage we have to throw some held beliefs, routines and emotions that don’t serve us in the fire.
8. Move. Depression is a state of being stuck. Get moving. Humans are the endurance athletes of the planet. Get moving. There are no excuses not to get moving. Start small and see where it goes.
9. Nature. Is our most powerful medicine. Just being in nature, observing, and absorbing nature's phytochemicals into our cells - is powerful medicine. Grounding on to the earth is essential for our bodies to function.
10. Sun. We are light beings. We need light to survive. The sun powers everything on this planet. Are you getting enough natural light every day? Does your day revolve around the rhythm of the rise and fall of the sun?
